Hi Guys!
I’m still here and still ALIVE hahaha. This no eating stuff is really really tough!
I thought it was a good idea for everyone to walk you guys through the entire We Care process so that’s why I’m making sure I include every day and each improvement I feel or don’t feel.
Days 4 and 5 were pretty similar. My colonics are always in the morning (yay, I like to get them over with first). Then I enjoy an hour in the sun to obtain my vitamin D for the day (my face is completely covered up though).
My energy is definitely increasing but I’m still totally dreaming about Mexican food and breaking out of here in a few days LOL.
COOKING CLASS
We had some really awesome nutrition and cooking classes to attend. The best part besides the learning aspect? We got to sample EVERYTHING! We were given tiny samples of the fresh juices, dressings and salads We Care Spa’s owner Susana made for us. I have to say I am convinced that owning a vitamix and slow rice cooker is a must so I’ll be ordering mine STAT!
Susana explained to us the importance of using 100% of each fruit and vegetable… the skin, seeds and stems because the nutrition is in the ENTIRE PLANT not just one portion of it. So when we blended this yummy vegetable juice, we had everything from the stems of the parsley and cilantro to the avocado skin and seeds. Of course for me, with zero extra time to waste in the kitchen, this concept is perfect. Now I don’t have to worry about digging the seeds out and cutting the stems off. It’s the perfect plan!
IONIC MINERALS
Something very interesting I learned is that oftentimes, when we are craving sweets, it’s because we are deficient in minerals. Hmm… I never thought about that before. Susana says whenever this happens, to keep some ionic minerals in your purse handy so you can swallow a few drops… within a few moments you will notice your cravings disappear. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?! Well… trust me, I’ve tried it and it totally works.
BUT WAIT, is it the harsh sour taste of those ionic minerals or am I actually deficient?
Hmmm…
What are ionic minerals you are probably wondering? I had no idea either. Well, they are positively or negatively charged minerals which helps our bodies to absorb the minerals much easier. You can find them at Whole Foods or Pharmaca or go to We Care’s website and order their ionic minerals. They’re not that expensive- under $30 and will last you several months.
WHY DIGESTION
Why focus so much on digestion and eating the right foods? Well… did you know that 85% of our immune system is in our gut? Crazy right? So if our digestive system is not properly functioning or getting the right nutrients it needs to support itself, our immune system will stop functioning properly and we will find ourselves getting sick a lot more often.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’d much rather take the time to find the right ingredients for good digestion and learn to love their tastes than not. I’m convinced we can stop cancer and other powerful diseases with healthy eating and a positive attitude! More on this to come in the blog later!
THAI MASSAGE
SO… after all of this sampling and enjoyment what could be better? Definitely a Thai massage. My number one recommendation for people who workout a lot, work a lot and drive a lot. OMG Thai massages are the most amazing massages ever. I recommend just going for it and splurging on a 90 minute session so your body has time to relax and reap all the benefits.
How can you benefit from thai massage? For starters, your entire body is stretched out. Pressure is applied throughout your body and every muscle group is touched. Usually the therapist will start with your feet and work their way up your body to your legs then abdomen, back, arms, neck and shoulders. Sometimes they use their knees on your buttocks and sit on you…sometimes you lie on your back over their feet in the air, chest up as your arms are gently pulled behind you for the ultimate chest expansion.
Finishing your massage with a bit of deep tissue on any areas of the body you feel you retain stress in, is ideal. I had my neck and shoulders worked on for the last few minutes. As a result, I was a bit sore the next day but the third day I felt super relaxed with zero soreness.
So overall my days 4 and 5 were pretty good. Except for this hunger in my belly I’m doing OKAY. I’m almost used to it now LOL. Only 2 days to go, yay!
Nighty Night.
