I’m finally coming out of that foggy haze I’ve been living in the past few days. Initially lethargic, nauseous and dealing with a throbbing headache, I now feel these symptoms lessening.
My energy is increasing… I’m still imagining my Mexican chips and guacamole… ugh, an all liquid-detox diet is NOT easy. But I am seeing and feeling some changes: my head is clearing and my tummy is less bloated.
The colonics don’t really get easier- you know what to expect which helps, but they’re not the most comfortable procedure ever. All the girls are really great and supportive though- they talk you through it and have TONS of experience.
Thank goodness for some beautiful sun, a pool, jacuzzi and my treatment schedule or I’m not sure I could make it LOL.
Day 3 I tried We Care’s System Recovery treatment. I feel like I may need a recovery from the recovery treatment. Ha ha just kidding it was pretty great. Super intense I must admit.
So first you are brushed with an ionic brush from head to toe. Not so great if you’ve gotten a little too much sun on your body so be careful not to get a sunburn before your treatment! Then you are doused and massaged in castor oil, your abdomen wrapped in foil. Next, your entire body gets wrapped in a blanket as you lie on a heated, amethyst mat. (If you’re heat sensitive or super claustrophobic, this probably won’t work for you). You guys know me, the heat was heaven! It did eventually start to feel like I was roasting but I toughed it out envisioning my amazing results. 🙂
The idea is that the castor oil works to draw the toxins out of your skin. I could feel beads of sweat pouring out from all over my body. The scalp and foot reflexology massages performed while I was wrapped really helped distract me from the heat and felt soo good. We should all pay more attention to our feet- we walk on them every day, btw. And my head felt amazing! I love cranial massages.
Later, I enjoyed a really fascinating talk on stress reduction and sleep followed by a cup of soup and some enzymes to chase it down. Sleep is definitely easier after a detox wrap… I can hardly wait for day 4 when I’ll be one day closer to finishing my stay!
