Yummy!
SO, who is ready to celebrate America’s Independence Day?!
OH and also have their Tuesday free of work?!
And watch those beautiful fireworks displays?!
I know I am. And I’m also prepared to splurge a bit on a few tasty nibbles of party food!!!
(BTW check out my guacamole recipe on this Patriotic American Taco Tuesday celebration!)
I’m so excited I found a recipe that makes chocolate mousse from avocados. I swear, I could live off of avocados- I just need chips and salsa for dinner, and raw cacao for the dessert, LOL! I love this recipe because it’s healthy, quick, simple and easy!
Avocados go bad within a few days so I recommend making a small, fresh portion each time unless you want to freeze the extras!
My recipe should serve 2-3 people.
+ 2 whole organic ripe avocados
+ 1/2 c raw cacao (nutiva brand preferred, tastes amazing, find it at Whole Foods!)
+ 1/2 c 100% organic raw maple syrup
+ 1/4 c vanilla organic coconut milk
*** Now you can do this the sophisticated way or the “Shanna’s on-the-go way.” Take your ripe avocados and puree them in a vita mix. Add to a bowl with the remaining ingredients and stir until the texture becomes creamy. Refrigerate and serve. Or you can do it my way when I am in a rush and feeling lazy: I mash up the avocados with a potato masher then add all remaining ingredients and stir until the mouse becomes creamy. There will be a few lumps but I actually like tasting the avocado in my mouse- weirdo I know! Refrigerate and serve in my favorite dish: a martini glass! If you’re having a party, add a pretty flower to your mouse for decoration!
Any recipes you want to share? I’m all ears! You can also add almond or cashew butter to your mousse for a unique, nutty taste!
