mode de vie fit shanna sashimi homemade platter

So most of you know I’m on a quick three week wedding “CRASH DIET” hahaha.

I mean, it’s not really so bad… I’ll totally have to write all about it when we get home and I look lean in my wedding photos LOL!

So basically, when I am trying to lose a few pounds, I cut out ALL CARBS like breads and grains. Rice is a big no no. Sushi and sashimi become my go-to cheat night meal. And when I say sushi, I mean sans-rice. We are also trying to stay at home more before the big day becuase, well you know, weddings are expensive!!!

My favorite go-to sushi night platter! For delicious sashimi try my simple recipe…

+     3-4 types of sashimi sliced neatly in a line (because sushi is meant to look beautiful)

+     thinly sliced lemons (my favorite way to eat sashimi is to eat a piece with a slice of lemon on top and no sauce)

+     seaweed salad (as a side dish and as a color accent on your platter)

+     gobs of wasabi sauce (for all you wasabi lovers out there!)

+     a large white serving platter (because sashimi looks great on a white backdrop and presentation is key)

Make sure you have a sharp enough knife to cut through the sashimi easily and in one slice. The worst is when your fish looks like it was hacked at! (But please be careful of your fingers and hands!) Get creative- arrange the fish in different lines, separate the colors, decorate with seaweed and lemons. It’s your creation… a clean look is crucial but the rest is up to you! Serve and enjoy.

xx Shanna
