Hello Everyone!
So I thought we’d take a quick break from all of our travels and talk fashion. I had a lot of outfits to plan for our trip ๐ ๐ ๐ and somehow we managed to fit them all in one checked bag, two carry on rollers, my purse and our garment bag, PHEW!
Now I know it’s tradition (at least for your first wedding lol) to wear a lot of white outfits. But by now you have probably learned, I’m a do what I want kinda girl and NOT the traditional type.
Sometimes I drive my mother crazy… what can I say?!
I started planning my outfits MONTHS in advance, probably in January. I thought a lot about it and decided since I’d already worn white for our engagement party and bridal shower, I might as well start changing it up. Plus, I really wanted to have our wedding day be the “day” when I came out in my white dress! I thought that would make it more special, separating our marriage day from all of the other dinners and days. You know how vacation days can kind of blend together?
I chose a lot of blue outfits hahaha. SURPRISE, I am certain you’re all shocked, hah! Well heck, since I was accenting my wedding with lots of blue I figured I would match my entire wedding theme and color coordinate to stay on brand!
You know when sometimes, a certain place and their bumpy, lumpy roads and stairs can seriously cramp your style and well thought out plans involving four inch heels? Well, Positano and our villa kinda did just that! I changed my shoes last minute to flats for pretty much every day of our trip except the wedding day. I mean, a girl’s gotta be stylish and somewhat practical. And besides, I really didn’t want to break an ankle walking up or down those stairs after a glass of wine or two. :(((
The first dinner at our villa was a welcome dinner for our guests staying at the villa. Now all of our guests had the option of staying at the villa, but some opted to stay in Amalfi, a town about 30 minutes away because they wanted some private time.
Which I totally get!
TRUST ME, it wasn’t easy in a villa with family and your closest friends for a week. No matter how hard you try, there’s bound to be someone throwing a little bit of drama your way :).
Is it just me or is anyone else really digging “navy” this year? I think I always discounted it because navy is too close to black. Well, for whatever reason I changed my mind.
I am LOVING NAVY so much this year! As you can see, my first wedding week dinner dress pick is navy with some sexy netting and top lines with a very snug fit. I was going for the sexy- classy look with cut out mesh on the top and a longer skirt that hit just below my knees.
(Thank you again, revolve.com.)
As my Mom always says, you should only show one thing at a time and I totally agree with her!
The shoes? Well, I dressed down in the flat, no heel department but I think Louis Vuittonย matches any and every dress and occasion, don’t you? ๐ These new espadrilles in navy are so comfortable, I actually walked in them for days while we toured Rome! The only thing I will say is that until the back of your heel gets used to them, be prepared for a few blisters!
OH- and let’s not forget about Anton’s outfit haha! I started shopping for his wardrobe last December. His Christmas, Birthday and Valentine’s Day gifts all became potential “wedding week” outfits LOL. Poor guy!
I “helped” Anton choose a nice pair of white AG pants, ย long sleeve button down teal shirt (courtesy of Nordstrom) and blue Louis Vuitton shoes to match me. BTW he lovvvveeesss to match me. He’ll even go back in his closet and change after I come out ready for dinner if we are not matching. Soooo funny!
Yep, so that about sums up our first night! Oh and did I mention how amazingly delicious the dinner was?! GUISEPPE WE MISS YOU!!!!! The risotto with salad and grilled fish, the fresh bread, the wine and of course the berry dessert. Good thing I used portion control will power and A LOT OF IT!
Off to watch hockey with Anton, AGAIN! Playoff number two. I’m kind of cheering for the underdog Nashville, how about you? I’m an underdog kind of girl I guess!
xx Shanna
