Our yoga is a sporty, power based class which links all movements to your core. A fluid workout designed to keep your heart rate up, we strengthen and lengthen your muscles simultaneously. We also burn fat and blast calories while holding positions, moving pose to pose at a moderate pace. Focus, mind clarity and cognitive awareness in mind are essential.
A note from Shanna…
Yoga keeps me sane, literally! Even if I’m so busy that I can only make it to one class, that class helps me clear my mind and stretch my worn out dancer’s body ;).Initially, as a competitive dancer who was not born with super flexible hips, (yes I’ve had to earn them through a lot of hard work and dedication) I started yoga training to increase my flexibility. Some results were immediate and some took a few months or even a year. But with patience and dedication, I improved a lot and was able to do some very neat things in my dancing I’d previously never been able to do. Thoroughly impressed with yoga, I decided to train, certify and teach others.
As a teacher, I’ve seen some amazing results! I have clients who range in age from 14 to 70. They can all do the same class together and afterwards tell me that I kicked their behinds! Now that’s pretty awesome. Men in their 60’s (including my own Dad) who couldn’t reach their toes, now can. I have guys and gals doing head stands and advanced balance poses, all over the age of 40! I even have clients who tell me their daily mental clarity has improved because of the mind body focus yoga gives them.
I guess what I’m trying to say is yoga is wonderful for the body, it’s ageless and timeless. You can do as much or as little as you wish. You can leave it and always come back. You can do it with a teacher or learn a few moves and practice in the privacy of your own home or the fresh outdoors!
I plan to continue yoga for a very long time… I hope to be instructing and inspiring my clients to aim for the same because YES YOU CAN!!
