Fashion rules?
I mean, yes, fashion does RULE! But seriously, the rules and regulations governing fashion are changing faster than we can change into our next outfit. Anyone else agree?
And how about our weather? I don’t know about you guys, but So Cal as of late has had a mix of hot and cold temperatures. Some days I have no clue as to how I should dress! Will the cloud layer go away? Will it rain? Will it be hot? Shorts or pants? One sweater or two?
Even my iphone weather app can’t keep up LOL.
This crazy year of weather has made me think twice about how to dress! And besides, long gone are the days when women were judged for wearing white in winter and sandals before Memorial Day. Heck, when was the last time you wore thick stockings to work?
(Thank God for that one!)
Well, thanks to our unpredictable weather, I decided to mix my winter and summer wardrobes together. A sort of “hybrid” wardrobe for our wacky weather days I suppose.
Boots in my mind are a MUST. And so are dresses. And faux fur. And neutral tones.
So here’s a look at my latest outfit. I wore this out a few evenings ago with Anton for dinner. Nothing too casual, nothing too fancy. And I stuck to a neutral theme that could work for summer as well as winter.
My boots are a white, grey, cream animal print color. The Sky dress is lace and super light weight for summer but with enough coverage so my legs didn’t get cold when we walked outside.
My jacket is this funky faux fur looking thing that actually keeps me quite warm. I like how it ties the entire outfit together and adds a little bit of spiciness!
Between the jacket, dress designs and animal print boots, I got inspired to leave my hair a little crazy. Nothing really matches and yet, the outfit pulls itself together quite nicely, don’t you think?
Jewelry should be super simple when you’re going for my funky fashionable look. And a small bag or purse totally completes the look.
Oh yeah– did I forget to mention I totally match my yorkstars? We are all wearing the same neutral tones LOL.
I love matching my fur babies! Super nerdy I know. But hey, you know me by now 🙂 .
My next outfit may pair a simple blue sun dress with my high black boots and a black sweater. Or better yet, I’ll bring out my leather pants with a cute crop top and leather jacket to match!
And you know what’s so great about mixing and matching seasonal attire? Every outfit we create looks brand spanking new without costing a penny!
Tell me you don’t just LOVE the simplicity here? And the budget!
Who knows… I’m just going to keep a few ideas on tap incase the weather continues it’s funky patterns… me and my fashion will be a perfectly simple, under budget match!
Off to Trader Joe’s for some last minute dinner essentials. Anyone tried their watermelon this month? It’s sooo yummy!!!
