Well hello there.
Fall is officially here and all I can say is woohoo! I usually never get excited for the end of summer, but the more and more I work on my blog, the more I LOVE the beginning of each season.
Why?
Well… because I LOVE fashion and I LOVE newness.
BUT… I really enjoy making my own fashion choices. Sure I’ll check out the latest trends… btw florals and reds are VERY “IN” this season… but then I like to get creative and just be ME.
Anyone else kinda prefer to stick to their own tastes and just “be themselves”? I mean I’ve been wearing cut out jeans for 8 years now… they were in back then, not so much inbetween, and now guess what? They’re BACK.
I also like to recycle clothes. It’s pointless to have closets and closets full of clothes we only wear once. Call me practical but even Princess Kate has been seen in the same outfit once or twice.
Oh- and yes, I have a budget.
Budget, what?
Yep, I have a budget for clothes. I think most of us do. Let’s get real, sure we’re seeing tons of bloggers in the latest trends worth thousands and thousands of dollars daily, but they’re either sponsored and given the clothes OR they are making big salaries each year to afford them. The rest of the people with expensive clothes and expansive wardrobes are well, part of that less than 5% bracket of people who can afford them. Oh and then there’s that other portion of people who don’t mind wracking up credit card debt to afford new things daily.
As long as it works for your lifestyle, that’s all that really matters!
SOOO.. see why I’m practical and keep myself on a budget? And don’t forget I’m OCD and have moved A LOT in my life… I have zero desire to pack up ten closet’s worth of clothes ever again! And when I’m sponsored I keep my faves and share the rest with friends and charities!
My naughty nautical fall look… let’s get back on track shall we? I’m a rule breaker all the way LOL.
Well, as you can see here I am still enjoying my nautical wardrobe. (Navy was a very popular color this year.) I found this sweater dress on revolve.com before our wedding and I had to have it. I figured I might need the warmer dress incase Positano had a few cool May breezes. Then of course I just happened to have navy Louis Vuitton shoes and a purse to match!
Soo that’s basically how the outfit came together.
With fall in full swing but warm temperatures hitting So Cal where I live, I decided hey, this creamy sweater with navy stripes and matching shoes totally works for the first part of fall! Remember my blog post on breaking fashion rules to wear white shoes? Well, I think it’s super important to match our wardrobe to the weather temperature. No one wants to freeze nor over heat!
Plus note the drawstring front and open chest. Kinda sexy don’t you think? Sexy yet classy. Very French in my opinion. 🙂
I figure I can get great use of my super cozy nautical outfit until November. Heck I can even pair it with a solid red shawl or creamy sweater. The “off white” creaminess definitely gives the sweater a fall appearance. And my bag is big enough to fit my sweater or shawl. 🙂
So do you guys see how my mind works? I really loved this outfit in summer on cooler nights and now I’m loving it again for fall with a dark navy bag, brown aviators and tan legs!
It’s never a wrong season to be spray tanned!
I promise to put my nautical number away come late November. 🙂 LOL… by Thanksgiving I should be in body suits and skinny jeans.
BTW I’m fighting the “mom jean” look. I don’t think they should have nicknamed the jeans that because moms look super sexy in a lot of jean styles- excluding this one which no one looks their best in. Never a fan, I’ll stick to my skinny jeans and holey jeans.
For now, enjoy the look of fall with a few of your fave summer pieces. I’m sure you can find them! And don’t forget, accents with cream, red and brown add a final touch to your look of fall.
