Happy Thursday everyone. I hope you all are having a fantastic week. Our weekend is almost here, yay! 🙂

I had a lot of questions and compliments about last week’s beauty post and my turquoise dress with white high heels. A very Mode De Vie Fit look, don’t you think? Where simplicity, a hint of French fashion, yorkies and turquoise meet hahaha.

Hence… I felt it best to do another post on the outfit and why I will continue wearing these shoes and dresses like this turquoise one way into September… or as long as our Summer weather continues at any rate.

Ahhh Summer… I must admit, it’s seriously my favorite season.

For those of you who know me quite well, you know that I’m almost always wearing a sweater. HAHA yes, even in 70 degree weather.

(I just run colder than most people- it must be my warm heart lol.)

When Summer weather decides to stick around after Labor Day I get really, really excited! No white after Labor Day… hmmm. Who makes up these silly fashion rules anyways?

Thank goodness today’s fashion icons are breaking with tradition. If not, I’d be in some serious fashion blogger trouble 🙁 .

WHY?

Well, why the heck not? It was people who made up these long lists of fashion do’s and don’ts and deadlines for certain weather- appropriate attire. So people can break them!

How about we make our own rules and stick to wearing what looks good, feels good and suits our body temperatures, all on a daily basis?

Don’t get me wrong. I like browns, reds, oranges and more neutral tones in the Fall. I think it’s fun to match the beautiful Fall foliage and put away brighter summer colors. If I wore summer colors year round, I’d be giving away clothes left and right because I would get soooo bored of them! And in the Spring, I definitely love a few pastel tones and floral prints.

Pastels in Summer? Not so much.

You see what I’m getting at? Every season definitley inspires it’s own fabulous color scheme and theme. Yet must we keep everything in a “box” and judge a person for wearing white sandals in October? LOL if so, you could be mocking my fashion sense very, very soon my friends!

Oh… and incase you’re wondering, even our yorkies have their own seasonal wardrobes!

Now let’s take things a step further by just focusing on black and white shall we? One contains every color in the rainbow and the other is a complete absence of color. We can wear both white and black with practically anything for almost any occassion, right? So why make these two colors a summer only or winter only shade? White matches the wintery white snow atop mountains doesn’t it? So why not wear white in winter may I ask? And black is a very sexy, classy, elegant color that looks amazing whether it’s 100 degrees outside or negative 20. Now you may feel extra hot in that 100 degree weather dressed in black, but hey, it’s your call. 🙂

I guess what I would like to say is this: people can and should wear whatever the heck they want as long as it’s well thought out and appropriate attire if going to a function. Weddings, funerals and religious ceremonies have their own set of fashion rules so I don’t even want to touch on those today.

Let’s just stick with Spring, Summer, Winter and Fall. I may put my turquoise dress away at the end of September so I can bust out my Fall foliage looks hahaha but I’ll definitely be keeping my white high heels around incase my burnt orange jeans and white t-shirt call for a pair of sexy white shoes.

If it feels good to you, I say do it. Wear it and most definitely OWN IT. You can never go wrong with that!

Off to teach a few more pilates classes. And most certainly not in my white high heels LOL!

xx Shanna
